Established in June 2008 Incipient Minds has networked and engaged with a wide range of professionals from different sectors. These various businesses and organization have volunteered their time, knowledge and skills to provide volunteer work placements for young aspiring minds. We believe that via volunteering young people will gain a wealth of experience and skills which will benefit them both presently and in their futures. Incipient Minds aims to promote volunteering across society; which will in turn create a pool of active and engaged citizens.
MISSION To promote and encourage young men and women from disenfranchised communities to utilise their skills and become active participants in their future. Our mission is to create individuals who truly believe in themselves enough to make their aspirations a reality.
VISION To create communities that pool together to socialise young aspiring minds; so they can become economic and moral share holders in their communities and thus society. Visualise the impact that this could have on a global level.
OBJECTIVES To ensure that the young people engaged in our skills program become successful in whatever career paths they choose to undertake. To assist young people who have barriers to learning overcome challenges that may prevent them achieving their desired career goals. Extend and give young people an advanced knowledge of possible career goals and the various paths to getting there. To inspire young people who will in turn become peer educators.
HOW WE WORK Through working with various schools and youth organisations we will link young men and women with a range of inspirational professionals that will give our young people concrete work experiences. In turn this will give young men and women a kick start in embarking on their professional career. Through their work experience young people will gain a wide range of work related skills such as knowledge, support, networking and contacts to aid them take their next step in making their professional goals a reality. This will be achieved via: Undertaking and completing the initial work placement. Fulfilling the necessary steps during the work placement such as journal reporting. Undergoing Incipient Minds 4 week work shop. Engaging in a long term career mentoring scheme. The link between Incipient Minds and the aspiring young mind will be consistent; we will support this young person find the right career and also to undertake the practical steps needed to achieve this. Businesses who register to give work experience and apprenticeships will be fully supported during the duration of the young person's placement.
